National Optic Fibre Network Broadband Coverage Target For 2014-15 Halved

A senior official from the USOF (Universal Services Obligation Fund), the organisation that funds the National Optic Fibre Network (NOFN) project, has informed that they have halved the broadband coverage target for 2014-15. The official states that only 50,000 villages would be covered by next year, as opposed to the targeted 100,000 villages.Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad too has been briefed about the development.
