Nokia’s HERE Maps Plans To Acquire Medio Systems

HERE, Nokia mapping division, is expanding. The company has just announced plans to acquire a Seattle-based company – Medio Systems that has been involved in real-time predictive analytics. HERE claims that it would use Medio’s ‘smart data’ asset which lets mapping tools create contextual maps and location services that change according to the situation to fine tune its map offerings. The acquisition is likely to be completed by the end of July with all of the 60 employees of Medio assimilated into HERE.
