This CES, tech companies want us to believe we need a hybrid tablet. Windows 8+Android at that. Micromax has announced Canvas LapTab: 10.1-inch (1,280×800 pixels) display, 1.46GHz Intel Celeron N2805 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and 7,400mAh battery. Pricing not revealed. Will be launched in India next month.

Asus has also launched the Transformer Book Duet – 4-in-1 dual-boot convertible tablet with laptop dock. Specs: 13.3-inch device which runs on both Windows 8.1 and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.  Intel Core i7 processor with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal memory in tablet pumped up with 1TB of storage space in the laptop dock. Will come in two variant starting at $599 for Core i3 and 1366x768p and $699 for i7 and 1080p.
